Stagetext help theatres and other arts venues “make their activities accessible to people who are deaf, deafened or hard of hearing” by providing “captioning and live subtitling” for plays etc.

They will be live-captioning two of Tom Stoppard’s plays in April – Rosencrantz & Guildenstern are Dead (starring Daniel Radcliffe and Josh McGuire) at the Old Vic on Thursday 6th April and the multiple-Olivier-nominated Travesties (starring Tom Hollander (also Olivier-nominated for his role in this play)) at the Apollo Theatre on Monday 10th April 2017.

Stagetext are also captioning a number of science talks at the Royal Society too which made me wonder, if they’d been around a century or so ago, might they have captioned Dr George Cholmondeley’s lecture in Taboo 🙂
